چکیده

Objective: To determine the grades of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours using World Health Organization criteria and Phosphohistone H3 mitotic index to concordance between two methods.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
Place Duration Study: Department Histopathology, Armed Forces Institute Pathology, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Mar Oct 2019.
Methodology: Forty-two (n=42) patients either gender ages 18-70 years were enrolled. All enrolled diagnosed with primary underwent surgical or endoscopic resection. Tumour determined H3mitotic index. The results obtained both methods compared, rate was calculated.
Results: When counts through PHH3, MI resulted in a change grade 12 (28.6%) tumours, which graded by current WHO system. 11 (26.2%) changed II I 1 (2.4%) I1. agreement (concordance rate) systems moderate statistically significant (71.4%, n=30/42, κ= 0.51, p= 0.001).
Conclusion: In present study, we observed Ki-67 labelling PPH3 index, correlate well counts. demonstrated better correlation when compared LI. Hence, inference can be drawn that H3is associated more closely mitosis tumours.

Automated quantification of Ki-67 proliferative index of excised neuroendocrine tumors of the lung

BACKGROUND The histopathologic distinction between typical carcinoid (TC) and atypical carcinoid (AC) of the lung is based largely on mitotic index. Ki-67 may aid in separation of these tumors, as well as the distinction from large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC). METHODS We identified 55 surgically resected primary neuroendocrine lung tumors (39 TC, 7 AC, 9 LCNEC) based on mitotic rate...

Analysis of the amount of tissue sample necessary for mitotic count and Ki-67 index in gastrointestinal stromal tumor sampling.

There are no established opinions concerning whether the amount of tissue affects the accuracy of histological analyses in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). The aim of the present study was to investigate the appropriate amount of tissue sample needed for mitotic count based on the risk classification of GISTs and the Ki-67 index using the following three methods: endoscopic ultrasound-g...

Typing and Grading of Soft Tissue Tumors and their Correlation with Proliferative Marker Ki-67

Material and Methods: The present study was conducted in the Department of Pathology, PGIMS, Rohtak. The study group comprised of excised 44 cases of STT (soft tissue tumors) specimens. Tumor grade was assigned based on the FNCLCC (Fédération Nationale des Centers de Lutte Contre le Cancer) grading system. According to the Ki-67 index the patients were divided into two groups: high index group ...

Grading of well-differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors is improved by the inclusion of both Ki67 proliferative index and mitotic rate.

The grading system for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) adopted in 2010 by the World Health Organization (WHO) mandates the use of both mitotic rate and Ki67/MIB-1 index in defining the proliferative rate and assigning the grade. In cases when these measures are not concordant for grade, it is recommended to assign the higher grade, but specific data justifying this approach do not ex...

Mdm2 and p53 expressions and Ki-67 proliferative index in fibrohistiocytic tumors

Objective: Various genetic alterations including inactivation of tumor suppressor genes and activation of oncogenes, are described in different types of neoplasms as well as soft-tissue tumors. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the expressions of mdm2 and p53, and Ki-67 proliferative activity and to investigate their interrelations with the clinicopathologic parameters in fibrohis...
